Boxing / Kickboxing
Alternative Fitness is Wollongong’s only all-female owned and operated boxing and kickboxing gym. We offer a range of kickboxing classes and can teach anyone from beginner to advanced. Our amazing team of female coaches are experienced in a range of combat sports, including boxing, K1, Muay Thai, MMA, BJJ and more. They are here to support and help you feel empowered through combat training. Kickboxing has something for everyone, from fitness, weight loss, self-defence and technical training.
Hijab-Friendly Boxing / Kickboxing
These exclusive sessions are designed to be Hijab friendly: doors closed, cameras off, and a female only space. It’s a safe, comfortable space where you can get fit and learn self defence, scarf-free. No experience is needed as the class is tailored to everyone’s individual abilities. We’ve carefully built an environment to sweat, learn, have fun and connect with like-minded women. Our female trainers – all experienced fighters – are here to guide you at every step.
Strength and Conditioning
Our Strength and Conditioning classes are designed as circuit-based sessions that focus on key movement patterns and lifts using a variety of modern equipment. Whether you’re aiming to build muscle definition or improve overall fitness, these classes are perfect for women of all levels. From beginner to advanced, you’ll be challenged to push your limits and achieve your fitness goals.
HIIT / Super Sessions
Our HIIT / Super Session class is a high-energy, full-body workout that combines intense bursts of exercise with short recovery periods. This fast-paced class focuses on improving cardiovascular fitness, building strength, and torching calories in a short amount of time. Designed to challenge all fitness levels, our Super Sessions are your go-to for a powerful and efficient workout.
BBB (Boxing, Belly, Booty)
BBB (Boxing, Belly, Booty) is our high-intensity ‘boxfit’ session, blending bag work, partner drills, and conditioning for a full-body workout in just 45 minutes. This fast-paced class not only builds cardio endurance but also targets core strength and lower body toning. Perfect for all fitness levels, BBB improves coordination and challenges you to push your limits. Whether you’re looking to burn calories or sharpen your boxing skills, BBB offers a fun and effective way to stay fit.
Stretch / Core
Our Stretch classes combine mindful movements to build strength, stability, and flexibility. Incorporating both static and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretches, these sessions help increase your range of motion. With a focus on the hips, lower back, and posture, our Stretch classes complement your other workouts and help keep you injury-free. They’re the perfect way to add balance and recovery to your weekly routine.
